About Us

Welcome to aevum planners. I’m David, and like many of you, my life took an unexpected turn five years ago.

After thirty years as a highly skilled engineer, and working in Research & Development for a medical and scientific company at the time; I found myself facing a new, daunting challenge: navigating life with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), and Brachial Neuritis.

The Reality of the Journey

Living with chronic conditions isn't just about managing symptoms like muscle weakness, brain fog, and constant pain. It’s about the exhausting "hidden" work that comes with it:

  • The Paperwork: Managing a mountain of NHS letters, scans, and consultant appointments.

  • The Repetition: Explaining your story over and over to GPs and specialists.

  • The Emotional Toll: Dealing with the cycle of hope and disappointment when a recovery plan doesn't materialise.

  • The Loss of Routine: Transitioning from a fast-paced career to a life where even a "good night's sleep" doesn't feel refreshing.

I spent years trying to stay on top of my health while my body was fighting against me. I realised that the systems around us aren't always built for people living in the "in-between"—those of us navigating lengthy diagnosis periods and complex symptom management.

I created this planner based on my own lived experience. It’s more than just a notebook; it’s a way for me to regain purpose and, hopefully, a way to make your journey just a little bit easier to navigate.

Why Aevum Was Born

When my health meant I could no longer continue my career in engineering, I refused to lose my sense of purpose. I decided to apply my R&D background and problem-solving skills to a different kind of challenge: Pacing.

Aevum Planners was created out of necessity. I needed a way to:

  1. Organise the Chaos: Track appointments and medical history without the mental strain.

  2. Manage Energy: Understand my "baseline" to avoid the boom-and-bust cycle.

  3. Regain Control: Create a tool that validates the chronic illness experience rather than fighting against it.
